Permanent Pre-Sear Character - which class?
Have a spare slot that I thought I'd use to create a permanent pre-searing character. What I haven't decided on is which class I should take.
I've played all of the character classes across all campaigns, so it's not a simple choice of choosing something I like or haven't played before.
What I'm interested in knowing is this; what class combination do you think is best suited / most fun to play in pre-sear? Given the limited skill sets and things to do, what would you play, knowing that you were never leaving pre-searing?
Also, I'm not death leveling etc, just want to wander around and be nostalgic.
Thanks.

W/R is one of my favorite to play, and seems a good basic combo to enjoy pre with, my charr farmer on the other hand is a R/Me...the pet plus the mesmer skills just rock. I bought an extra account just for pre-searing, its one of the things I do to 'relax' and get away from the rest of the GW hustle and bustle.

My only perma-pre char is going for the title, so I have a me/r. Fabulous fast degen and a pet to hold aggro. I might keep that char there even after title, I love pre!

hm, thats a tough one.....I would suggest something with ranger either primary or secondary for the pet.....it can help alot when you have only 2 party members! I just left pre with my monk/ranger....can do a good deal of damage with the smiting skills and my pet did the aggroing. Necro would be good if they another minion skills...and mesmer degens are quite nice since you can conjure phatasm something and run and it may still die!

Ranger/Warrior
OR
Mesmer/Ranger
and here's why, with the Ranger/Warrior combo you can take down ANYTHING and take it down fast, (bow + frenzy... sounds bad, but it works) And of course a pet.
with the Mesmer/Ranger combo you can hide behind walls and degen things to death, with troll unguent (probably the best pre-searing self heal) to keep yourself alive.

on more than 1 account i have the following
a level 11 W/M..............fun
a level 11 M/N...................fun
a level 10 M/R ............................lots of fun and a pet to go with minipets as they are over a year in presear.
all of them can go anywhere solo except the Northlands without taking much damage including the monks.
i like the monk dance and like jumping into a dance and catching a perfect sync the first/second time

ranger. In my opinion has the best armor and the pet is a big bonus.Cool dance for those mass pre dance parties too lol. Very good solo charr too.

My permanent Pre character is a necro / ranger (dollz to the wall)
Necro are great to degen charr and my pet can hold and kill the charr while I stay at a safe dist.
Dollz to the walls (the white doll), we normally hang out in Ascalon Am dist 1 and if you look now you will probably see blue or yellow doll on.
I also have a Monk / Ranger Goddess Antipowers
Great to heal and my pet helps tank.

These are the reasons to have a monk in presearing:
* Damage that ignores armor, but is still damage. - This is much better suited for killing charr than degen. When a charr warrior frenzies, you can kill him with only a few pulses of Symbol Of Wrath. While a mesmer can degen and run away, this method is slow, and I like to play efficiently.
* Damage that does not require line of sight. - In the northlands, your caster character is going to be hiding behind walls and hills to negate the damage from Charr rangers. In the northlands, the game is not about letting your tank take the damage, it's about not allowing the charr to damage you at all. While an Elementalist can be the same way, you will not be using flare.
* More self-heal options. Healing Breeze is only available to monk primaries. At low levels, this heal-over-time is much easier to micro than orison spamming. It also completely negates degen when soloing the northlands while casting 3 times faster than troll.
* Bane Signet owns the charr monk boss. I wouldn't want to try to solo northlands with any other profession at level 7, because there is just no way for them to pull out the kind of spike power needed to break his Heal Area spamming.
If you want the benefit of ranger secondary, you can get the charm animal skill without becoming a full ranger. This will allow you to charm a death-leveled animal companion without any risks and with some more added damage output.

I have a preminent Ranger, Elementalist, Warrior and Necro in Pre, none of which have secondaries but if i were to get secondaries id probably go: R/W(For Frenzy bow attacks), E/Mes(For the great mesmer skills), W/E(For Firestorming , Pre AI ftw) and N/Mes(For the great mesmer skill)
